As has been the norm over the past years, Mercy Education Office holds our Lady of Mercy feast day annually on a date close to 24th September which is the actual date according to the church calendar to celebrate this feast.
On this day, MEO brings together schools that were founded/sponsored by the sisters of Mercy as well as other mercy ministries, to celebrate and give thanks to God, for His generosity and Mercy. The events planned for the day involve prayer and fun. The day begins with celebrating the holy mass and culminates with sharing a meal as the Mercy family.
This year’s event took place on 30th September 2023 at St. Bakhita Primary School along Likoni Road. The event hosted a very large number of participants as compared to other previous years, where over 2000 participants took part.
Inspired by the vision of Catherine McAuley, Foundress of the Sisters of Mercy, the Mercy Education Department Office is committed to the holistic development of the full potential of each student, particularly those who are disadvantaged or marginalized.It is a process informed and influenced by the teaching and example of Jesus Christ, and is conducted in an atmosphere of care, respect, and joy.
